Crypto casino bonuses: every type explained
Welcome matches, free spins, no-deposit bonuses, reloads, cashback and rakeback: what each one is and which are actually worth having.
Casinos use lots of names for their offers. Most fall into a handful of types, and some are far easier to actually turn into money than others.
Deposit match (welcome bonus)
The casino adds a percentage of your deposit as bonus money. A 100% match up to $500 means deposit $200 and get $200 extra. Welcome packages often spread this over your first three or four deposits. Almost always comes with wagering requirements.
Free spins
A set number of spins on chosen slots. Winnings usually land as bonus money with their own wagering, and spins often expire within a day or two of being credited.
No-deposit bonus
A small amount of bonus money or a few free spins just for signing up. Nice to try a casino, but expect high wagering and a low cap on how much you can withdraw.
Reload bonus
A smaller deposit match for existing players, often weekly. Same rules as a welcome bonus, just smaller.
Cashback
A percentage of your net losses back, usually weekly. The best cashback is paid as real money with no wagering.
Rakeback
Popular at crypto casinos. You get back a small percentage of the house edge on every bet, win or lose. It's small per bet but steady, and often comes with no wagering at all.
Which are worth it?
- Best value: rakeback and cashback with no wagering, because what you get is yours.
- Good, with care: deposit matches with 30x wagering or less and a sensible time limit.
- Be careful: no-deposit bonuses and anything over 50x wagering.
You never have to take a bonus. If you'd rather withdraw whenever you like, just say no to it. Gamble only with money you can afford to lose.
